Question Case Fans

I am building my first pc and the case I have ordered will fit 5 120mm fans. It only comes with one so I want to buy 3-4 more fans for it. The mother board is an gigabyte b450m ds3h and only has one fan header. When it comes to fans do I need to get a pwm fan and if so I have seen multiple that say 3 pin motherboard or 4 pin power supply. Are these the type of fans I am looking for or do I need a 4 pin straight to the motherboard?

OK so i have this motherboard (https://pcpartpicker.com/product/hpRzK8/gigabyte-b450m-ds3h-micro-atx-am4-motherboard-b450m-ds3h) coming in and i can't seem to figure out this fan situation. I'm really trying to get atleast 4 more fans in the case and i have about 30-40 to spend on it right now. Any help would be great

That mobo has two fan headers. But like the dark lord stated, it would be best to use a sata powered fan hub to connect your case fans to.

3 or 4 pin doesn't really matter unless you want to have control over the fans. 3 pin is usually direct voltage controlled with no adjustment. Fan runs full rpm, all the time. 4 pin is pwm, and is usually adjustable with a controller(built into that mobo) or a separate controller. User defined or temp control depending on the controller used. But you'll want a controller, as you don't want to split that many fans between two connectors on the mobo(usually). Most fans now are 12v.

Ok so the silver stone pwm fan hub would safely be able to run the additional 3-4 fans I need and the one that came with the case for a total of 4-5 fans going through fan hub? I’m sorry I’m building for the first time and just don’t want to mess anything up. Thank you both for the advice thus far

That fan hub will power up to 8 fans. So yes it will more than handle your case fan load. I would put all case fans on the hub and then use the other header on the mobo for the cpu fan.
