this is my first system to put together... i have ordered the mother board, cpu and ram. i now need a good ATX case. im not usre if all ATX cases are the same or what. is there a special case that i should look for in reguards to my mother board or are all ATX cases the same inside? i am also planning to have a dvd drive as well as a cd-rw what power supply should i look for.

please be as verbose as possible for my sake. i am NEW to this:)

No, I'm not just shouting strange euphamisms. The Fong Kai 320 case is, IMO, your best bet. The Power Supply is rated at 300W (almost a must for high speed AMD processors) and is oen of the sturdier ones in the market (recommended by AMD). The case itself has excellent cooling properties; some of the best in the market without a specialized $400+ case. The case is only about $100 too. Cooling and power are very important to Thunderbird processors. If you're building it yourself and the heatsink/fan combo are not yet attached to your T-Bird processor, I recommend you be VERY careful, buy ONLY a T-Bird specific heatsink/fan and attach it slowly and carefully. T-Birds are very delicate. Also, do NOT turn the computer on without the heatsink/fan because it may fry the processor. So yeah, my recommendation is the Fong Kai 320. You can go to www.pricewatch.com, search for "Fong Kai" or "FKI" and find a few people who sell them. If all else fails, Directron is a distributor of Fong Kai cases. Lastly of all, if you just cannot get one of those, Super Micro SC750 is my second choice. A more expensive, larger and heavier case, but it's of comparable quality.

I have an Inwin Q500 full tower. I don't know if you want a big case or not, but I love mine. Plenty of room and bays. It has a 300W supply and 12 drive bays. I have had 9 drives in there without a problem. I have plenty of room in there for my water cooler too. :)
