Hello,

So I'm building my new pc... I managed to find 2 SAPPHIRE TRI-X r9 290's for the price of 1 GTX 970. The original case i wanted to buy was the NZXT source 340 (s340) because its just a goddammn beautifull case and fits my needs... atleast that was for one gtx 970. Now I'm worried my 2 r9 290's wont fit in the case and if they will fit. I will just fry them in that small case... My ideal solution would be to have the s340 but im not willing to risk my hole system just because i like the aesthetics of a case. Am i better buying a new CORSAIR CARBIDE 300R or 200R? (both look good, but s340 still wins in looks) Or should i look for a used case around the same price? Something like a Corsair Obsidian 450D or CM Storm Trooper or cooler master HAF or something else?

I dont know guys please help me? Please tell me if the NZXT source 340 will do the job :p

Hey man, not really an expert on this and I don't have any firsthand experience with CrossFire/SLI in the s340 but it seems fine from the builds I've seen around. This guy http://pcpartpicker.com/b/ktr7YJ has SLI'd 970's and seems happy. Saw another guy with a couple of 760's in there, too. I'm also a really big fan of the s340, planning on building my next PC in one; a pretty sweet black and white build. So I did my due diligence and found out i f I would be able to comfortably crossfire/SLI in there. I'm actually in a remarkably similar situation to you, I can get two 290's for the price of a 970 too and was wondering if that was a better option. Tho I don't think I'm going to double up till SkyLake and just sit on a cheaper mono/CPU...

But wont it be a tight fit? And what about the airflow consequences? Also watercooling the CPU wont be an option i guess because of the radiator in the front?

Anyway, sorry for rambling. I hope I helped. I think you'll be fine. The liquid cooling radiator might be a problem tho, the TRI-X's are VERY long cards.

Oh, also, There's the H440 from NZXT, it's very similar aesthetically and a larger case. The s340's bigger brother, if you will. I don't know what your budget is tho. It is a little more expensive. $30-40 more expensive.

So I went ahead and bought the case since it's suck value for money and I just love the look of it.
The cards fot but they run quite hot (60°C - 75°C) don't know whether this is the cards nature or caused by the airflow :s
