ok i read reviews on the TX1050B and 1088AMG

the AMG has a TruePower 2.0 480w
the 1050B has SmartPower II 500w

which PSU is better?

true power or smart power?

i wont get th eP180 cuz ppl (reviewers) say the alkuminum warps over time and i want a long lasting case not one that will melt in 6 months

Having built 3 computers using the P180 - I would have to say BS to that. I have has no warping - and I love the layout of the case.

Pengwin I recommend this COOLERMASTER case

www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811119077

Terrific airflow, toolless straight forward design, sleek and classy looking with a window. Great price, pick out your own PSU!

Ive been using this case for a couple months with no regrets what-so-ever. It comes with a 120mm exhaust fan and an 80mm intake right in front of the hard drive to keep that cool. I add an additional 120mm intake right underneath my DVD drive, it blows directly over my memory and CPU then straight out the rear exhaust. I couldnt be happier![/img]

I don't know if you're still looking at the Sonata-II, but the case is only quiet if you follow their guidelines. I guarantee you that if you run a SLI setup in this case or install additional cooling it will not be quiet.

It's a good case, but if you are looking for maximum expandability, you may want to go with a different case.

Here's your best value for a case, the Coolermaster Wavemaster TAC-T01. There's lots of reviews for this out there if you want to find them. I'm thinking about getting one myself. Geeks.com has it priced for $69 but has them on sale about every day for $64. Newegg has the same case for $129.50. I e-mailed them about this at Geeks and they said the only difference is that theirs is in a generic box. They sell the same case in the Coolermaster box for $81.50, which is still cheaper than Newegg by a long shot.

Now wait! That's not a fair statement! ANY case will fail if you don't follow the maker's guidlines. And adding tons of noise producing devices will make any PC louder. A top quality, low noise 120mm fan can be added to the front of the Sonata and still be quiet if used with a fan controller.

The fact is, a Sonata with SLi is still likely to be quieter than other cases not designed with noise limiting in mind.

And maximum expandabilty only means you can add more drives - it does not address fit and finish, sharp edges, removable drive bays, reinforced corners, access, sheet metal thickness - all of which the Antec is noted for.

You must have taken what I said wrong. Notice the sig. I own this case and I love this case, but his original post said he planned on OC'ing and running SLI. If he got a Sonata-II with the intent of it being quiet, then it won't. It may still be quieter than other cases, but it certainly won't be quiet. The manual doesn't even recommend installing a second fan. As for expandability, that is why I italicized the word "maximum", otherwise the case is fine for a typical setup.

Take a look at the Silverstone TJ06. I used this case (black) for the last 3 builds I did and it's a great case. It's sort of a cross ATX/BTX design as the mobo is inverted from it's normal position in an ATX case. Puts the mem and cpu in a wind tunnel between two 120mm fans instead of high up next to the PSU. Beware tho of PSU's with short length connectors as they need to reach much further than usual.

the silver stone ...expensive..aero cool makes an $85 version with a wind tunnel

the Cooler Master looks ok but a TX1088AMG is better deal and honestlyi dont eally like how the Coolermaster looks, also no dust filters which i hear are really awesome

so now i think its between

TX10888AMG - has better cooling than the cooler master
-2 x 80mm front
-120mm in the back
-92mm CPU duct fan OR remove the duct and place a 120mm fan
-80mm fan over VGA slots
-also a 480w TruePower 2 PSU

Antec Sonata II
- 1 120mm front and one in th eback
-80mm fan over VGA
-92mm over CPU
-450w SmartPower

Antec P150
-2 x 92mm front
-120mm fan rear
-430w NeoHE PSU

Pengwin the COOLERMASTER case I suggested DOES have a dust filter. The whole front of the case is a dust filter! Behind all those preforations is a dust filter from top to bottom. I have the case, trust me.

hmm

dunno doesnt look too great tho..also the antec ha sbetter cooling becasue o fjust havin a Duct u can install a fan in it also the holes over the vga cards u can mount an 80mm fan on the antec unlike the coolermaster

Alot of good stuff can be found from Aspire. Although the Antec's look pretty good, I still wouldn't trust built in power supplies no matter what they were. If they call it a TruePower, it might just be a cheap knock-off that they can call a TruePower. Separating the case and PSU is probably the safest choice, and it can be cheaper sometimes.

I'm probably not gonna change your mind from your precious Antec's, but I personally am loving the X-Plorer case from Aspire and the Fortron AX500-A 500W.

X-Plorer
Fortron

Just keep in mind that everything has a downside, otherwise everyone would be buying the same thing.

would never get the X-Plorer not my kind of case, mayb e the navigator sinc eits big and has a ton of fans

also the PSU in the case are the ame antec PSU's antec sells retail so the PSU is of good quality i read reviews on the case and that wha tthe reviewers say

anlythign i need now are facts

is the 500w Smart Power better than a 480w TruePower?
is the 20w difference a big difference?

no i hate lights

im on a budget and the im not gonna go SLi yet so a 500w Smart Power PSU would do me fine (i think)

man now i got 2 choices

Sonata II or Performance TX 1050B

i like the room in the TX but i also like quiet things, both have good air flow, which would be better for:

Large heatsinks
SLi
and im only gonna run 2 HDD's max

i have the Antec Sonata 1 case. you won't be disappointed with the Antec Sonata 2. the Sonata series is a very solid and durable case and high quality.

ok but i think im goin with the TX 1088 since a Trupower 480w is better than a SmartPower 500w, dont realyl care for colors both are good colors
