[Case Mod Q] Extending the case?

I got the idea to weld an extension (cut off section from another tower the height of a PSU) to the bottom of my mid tower, to make it a full tower and allow space for a radiator, and resevoir for liquid cooling later on.

I know people that weld, so I will get their help with that part.

My question is, is there an easier way of doing this other than welding? If so provide info?

And has anyone done this before?

ONLY steel can be welded....oh and take EVERYTHING out first....

If its decent thickness steel yes, if its paper thin...no....the welder would just blow big holes in it....
