This is a new pc that I built on my own. This pc had successfully turned on and off several times before. But after few days of not turning it on, Today, I turn it on. The power start and every thing seems to start running but the monitor is black screen and said that is's not getting any signal. I try to restart by pressing the power button on the case but the pc won't turn off so I have to turn off the power supply to turn it off. After unplug and replug the monitor's power cable, DVI, and power supply's cable, I turn on the pc, it still failed to turn on and the case's power button won't turn off the pc. Please help.

Solution
First, you need to understand how the power button works. On many systems you CAN force the system to turn off right away, but only if you use that Power button in a particular way. To force a turn off, you must push and and HOLD the button in for at least 4 or 5 seconds, and THEN it will turn off.

If that succeeds in turning off your system, the button is not faulty. In fact, your description suggests to me that the button IS working because at least it can BEGIN the start-up process by turning on fans and getting the system to do some start-up work. The real problem you have is that no signal is getting to your monitor for display. At the top of this Forum for System issues, look at the third sticky post down that describes how to...
