cat. 3.4 - keep 3.2, .3.4 BUGGY!!!

i can't beleive how much these drivers SUCK! First i get all sorts of screen display problems, which has never ever occured before, i fix it finally, then my tv doesn't work, i had to install the WDM drivers AGAIN. That messed up the display drivers so my screen was all messed up. I had to shut it off and back on and it was fine. This was AFTER a clean install. I uninstalled all the drivers and software and installed from scratch.

Then i went to play enter the matrix, which fricken kicks ass and the game just crashed on me. This has NEVER happend before cat 3.4. i was fine with 3.2 but i heard "good" things for 3.4. Before reinstalling everything from scratch, nothing fricken worked, the games were frigged up. It wouldn't display right. Empire Earth being one of them.

It's a fricken joke! don't get these drivers if you have a similar rig to mine!! Not to mention there is no way to report these bugs easily unless you wanna use up your 30 minutes of free tech support which is BS.

anyone else having problems with these [-peep-] catalyst 3.4 drivers??

Actually there's an easy way to report them, go over to Rage3D they have a thread there which is specifically for feedback on this and it's started and participated in by many Catalyst develpoers.

Your specific problems help they fix them, but be alot more specific than you are being here.

Actually after reading your other post it's probably an MMC conflict. They may already know about it. AIWs are usually more finiky than regular Radeons. I used to have the 8500DV and the PCI 128bit 16mb AIW, and both had very specific warnings about MMC, but I thought that was fixed with the unified Cats. Anywhoo I'd check there, there's ALOT more ATI owners/users/developers there than here. Just FYI.

I like these drivers. Smartgart finally shows up in the control panel (not that I need it), GTA3 now plays smoothly with 6xAA/16xAF instead of being a bit choppy and I get hardware accelerated post-processing with the DivX Player (not that it provides that much better quality).

I have determined that they did nothing for me, but then again, I was having zero problems to begin with.
I have a happy computer.
