I just finished building my PC. I have an Radeon HD 7970. I am at the stage where I install drivers. One problem, as I was trying to install the Catalyst suite I got a error saying "failed to load detection driver". I have no idea why. Anyone know how to fix this?

Solution
When you go to install you uncheck the the control center stuff. But I suppose I'm wrong on that. The reason they said that is to cover their butts, it's safe to do you just have to follow directions supplied by the manufacturer very closely.

I've been googling around for people with similar problems with you have finding very little to help. One thing I found that you could try is downloading .net 4

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17851

and it's probably a good idea to do windows update if you've just installed windows.

I also found out that i trying to install the driver in safe mode is pretty much known to not work. But you could try low res mode (F8 on start up and then select that mode). Also if you...

WAIT THANK YOU!!! I'VE INSTALLED THE DRIVER!! I'VE HAD IT ON A USB AND COULD UPDATE THROUGH WINDOWS! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! THANK YOU!!!

Yep! I've already done that. By the way, I've set my resolution to 1920x1080. It seems to be very blurry. Could this be because I'm using an HDMI?

Well it could be just the monitor, but if you weren't having that issue before , then it's probably something else. What's your monitors native resolution, 1080? or something higher. Also if you have dvi available I would give it a try to just to test and see if it makes a difference or not

Well, its not a monitor, its an HDTV. The native is 1080p. I've used this as my external monitor with my laptop and it worked perfectly fine. Even when I use it as my main display. I was using a VGA cable then. Now, when using the HDMI, I get a crappy, blurry resolution. Thinking it was the HDMI, I tried using display port. I accidentally plugged the two in at the same time. And it acted like I was using two screens. So I set my display to only show on 2nd (HDMI) and the screen became beautiful. I had to using the scaling feature in CCC a bit but it still looks amazing. Then, I restarted my PC and it returned to the normal crappy display. So now I have to unplug the HDMI and leave the DisplayPort in before I turn off my computer. And once I've logged on, I can plug the HDMI and it returns to the great display. This process is just very complicated. Do you how to get it to work with a simpler method?

I've already tried using a disport to HDMI. I've also tweak around with the settings. Its okay. I think I will stick with my procedures. Sorry to be troubling you with all these issues.
