one of my cats used to sleep up on the heads of the machine. now she's too
fat to make it up there.

I wish I took pictures of my cat making a home out of my Hyperball
cabinet.
You see, the bottom speaker it didn't have, but the hole was still
there and it did not have a speaker grill.
It looked like the cabinet floor was growing fur, amazing.

I'm happy to say my two cats do not like getting up on my pins and the
neutered male doesn't spray. When he hears me fire up a game he runs over to
rub himself on my legs. I haven't figured out if he likes to rub accompanied
by pin sounds or it's just that he knows he has a pair of stationary legs he
can go to town on.

Neither do dead cats. :)

I'd be ashamed to admit how many cats we have (well, mostly my wife) but
I've become sort of an expert on the subject of male cats who spray.

About half of our male cats spray and I've noticed that they
particularly like to spray on anything plastic. There must be some gas
emitted by plastic that mimics male cat pee. Grocery bags are
particularly vulnerable.

I also have to be careful where I set my baseball cap. The sweatband
area of the cap really attracts our male cats and many a time I have put
on that cap after some cat has hosed it down. Not a pleasurable
experience, I can assure you.

Yeah, they can be disgusting... but they can also be great fun. On
balance, they are a positive IMHO.

Of my 4 males, only 2 spray. 1 done as a kitten, 1 as 1 yo ( adopted
from petsmart).
One likes to spray the monitor when I give the computer more attention
than him. And you thought spilling drinks over the keyboard was a bitch!

Good for leverage with the wife.
The most recent adoption ( a blind Cocker Spaniel ) was good for a Stargate.

Wonder what the NIB LOTR is gonna cost me?

I feel you Korn - I have the same problem. ...and most women seem to have
them!

We have 2 cats that aren't declawed but have been neutered and
spayed. They have never sprayed on anything and only claw on their
"cat condo". Our cats are pretty cool though :)

As a cat owner for most of his life, cats usually spray to mark
their territory or if they are stressed out. If you get additional
animals, especially a new cat this can happen. I don't think their
claws could really hurt a pin or vid but its possible for any animals
piss to sit a while and ammonia-ized the paint or color out of
something.

I keep the door to the gameroom closed almost all the time for this
very reason. One of my machines was acquired from a guy who apologized
for the cat pee odor. Another was acquired with enough cat hair on the
innards to make several cats. I'm sure they're drawn to it for the
high perch from which to observe their domain. The two occassions ours
has managed to get into the room, he's been on the tallest one. I
hadn't thought about the spraying ruining a BG. If our cat does that,
he's wallpaper.

I was on the Mr. Mirror Balls web site and he has just added Bottled
Cat Piss for your Bad Cats machine and it comes with a sprayer. He will
also be adding a 3 ounce bag of cat hair next week. I guess he is
cleaning up his house.
(only kidding) 😉

Good point!

I don't even mind it when my cats pee on my Bad Cats machine. The aroma
just sort of adds to the overall theme. Kinda like putting the little
plastic piano in a TZ machine. ;-)
