Cd Drive Start Up

Built my computer 3 months ago, I still haven't figured out how to start up the Cd Player thingy. It turns on, it opens, it pulls the disc in, but nothing comes up on my computer and i dont know what to do about it.

If you can eject the disk tray when pressing the eject button on the drive then power is good.

If what ever disk you put in the drive is not read, or the contents of the disk are displayed via clicking on file explorer and then the cd or dvd drive in the drive listings.

Then you have forgotten to connect the Sata data cable from the drive to one of the Sata ports of the motherboard TSCShady.
