CD/DVD ROM player quality

Getting myself a new system soon, curious about the no-name CD/CDRW-ROM and DVD-ROM players that come stock with many systems. On average how much worse are these brands versus name-brand ones? Plextor CDRW for example is $80 more for the same speed as the no-name brand.

Would probably burn a CD or two a month and use the DVD player to play MP3 CDs, so not a power user. Thanks

If it's a complete no-name, maybe go for a Lite-on CDRW if you want to spend a smaller amount than a Plextor. Lite-ons seem to be the best out of the cheaper bunch.

The liteon 24x roxxs.

I picked up some $.40 Memorex 16x cdr's from Wally World, and I can burn them at 20x with the liteon.
