I'd like to know the answer to that one as well. A+ folks would love
this one. If your CD drive attaches to an IDE cable, then it is
conceviable it predates the EIDE standards which embedded the ATAPI
protocol. SP2, and to some extent Windows XP SP1, have progressively
discarded backward-compatibility to legacy hardware.
