CDROM and ATA-100 Problem.

After setting up my HDD for ATA-100 support and installing the promise driver I have run into another problem :(
Windows will not see my cdroms unless the DMA box is unchecked in thier properties window. Bios detects the cdroms fine though. I went and installed the newest 4in1 VIA motherboard drivers and that didnt solve the problem. The only idea I have left is to update the bios, but I really dont want to do that unless I 100% absolutley have to.

Any ideas?

My specs:

T-bird 1000
Asus A7V
IBM Deskstar 60GB HDD
PlexWriter 12/10/32a
Creative PC-DVD

It sounds like you could also have some sort of interrupt issue. BTW, updating the BIOS is never a bad idea, however I highly doubt it would help since you're POSTING the drives already.

We need more info about what you've tried, and what your configuration is.

You should place your CD-ROM on a different IDE channel, not the same one as your hard drive. I'd place it on the regular IDE channels on your board, not the Promise IDE channels, but it should work just fine even if you place it on the Promise secondary IDE channel.
