Ceiling fans

i have a wood burning stove with a ceiling fan above, i would like to know which direction is best for blowing the hot air around in my space. up or down

This is a unusual topic to have on a Computer forum, but never mind.

well hot air rises naturally, so it would be suggested to have it blowing down,
but this may also defeats the object of trying to warm the room up as fans are normall used for dispersing heat, unless its a fan heater.
where is this wood burning stove ? Kitchen,living room ?
