I've tried everything I can find online. I've tried a bunch of games; For Honor and No Man's Sky crash after about 5 minutes of play. By crash, the screen completely freezes and sound remains. I cannot alt-tab, as the whole system freezes and I need to manually hold the power button. Games that do not crash include Game Dev Tycoon and PUBG.

I've tried updating my drivers, wiping old drivers and reinstalling drivers with DDU. I've used CCleaner to wipe registries and clean-up. I've taken the PC apart and cleaned the dust away. I just can't figure out what is causing it. I've even done a complete factory reset of the PC, so it's gotta be a hardware problem, right?

Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 15063) (15063.rs2_release.170317-1834)
BIOS: 1.0.11
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz (8 CPUs), ~4.0GHz
Memory: 16384MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
Driver File Version: 22.21.0013.8494 (English)

CPU is not overclocked.

Can't think of anything else you'd need but this problem is making me pull my hair out :kaola: Please help!

I'm not sure, I bought the Alienware Aurora R5 and it's the default PSU.

Okay, this sounds strange but I think I may have found the problem. The games that crash are the only games that I use my Bluetooth connected XB1 pad with. Using them with M&KB, they don't seem to crash (haven't experienced a crash in 1 hour of using it - as opposed to within 5 minutes of launch).

I still aren't sure of the problem though. I tried to update my drivers for the pad, as well as disabling all start-up applications. It still freezes with a pad.

Do you have a lot of usb devices plugged into your pc?

Sorry for the late reply but I've 100% isolated the problem to the XB1 pad. I have a mouse and keyboard, that's it. The pad is connected wirelessly via Bluetooth though.
