Hello,

I've seen a lot of questions like this and I've also seen the same reply
( http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/faq/id-1865158/change-color-bits-windows.html )

This tutorial above isn't working because my computer doesn't list any 16bit mode, only 32 :

As you can see from the picture I am running an intel HD Graphics 4600, also a Gforce GTX 850M . I also tried to change this in the nVidia Experience thing, still no luck.

Anyone knows how to solve this? Thanks.

I had the same Issue where I could not change it for an old game, The settlers 4 editor, I am on windows 10. If you right click on the program then go to properties then click the compatibility tab and on there it should say reduced color mode then you can change it to 16 bit color for the program. Hopefully it starts right up worked for me.

You can no longer change color modes to 8 or 16 bit in the system as of Windows 8. No modern software requires this mode, and it has not been since XP. However, you can set compatibility settings of "Reduced color mode" to either 8 or 16bit on an application basis. Simply right click on the application and go to "Properties", and then "Compatibility" . I would highly suggest "Run in compatibility mode for" and the OS the software was designed for (XP SP2 if Win 2k, 98 for Me) in addition to the "Reduced Color mode" setting.
