Change CPU or Video card?

What would be more beneficial for gaming, Up-grading from a GeForce 960 to a GeForce 1060 or going from a i5-6500 3.2 GHz to a i7-7700K 4.2 GHz processor?
Not a rich man so I only get 1.

yeah, don't upgrade unless you're actually experiencing issues. That's a pretty good setup by today's standards. so best to hold on to that money and upgrade when there would be an actually big performance gap in you upgrade. Because if u buy either you wouldn't really notice a significant increase in performance

When I play Take On Mars and have a lot of structures built, the game starts to stutter.

When I Google searched it, some of the reply's where "I have the same thing, its a performance problem". That's a little vague, so thought I would ask you folks. On another forum they said not a 1060 but a 1080 will do the trick. But I cant mortgage the house and sell the kids to buy a video card.

for most games you will notice a bigger FPS increase with the GTX 1060, although I dont know a whole lot about Take on Mars and your specific issue.

Correct, In my opinion, it's not worth investing in hardware with your current setup.
