change permission settings seagate external drive access on mac

how can i change the permission of the seagate external drive on iMac ? it's read only and i can't add any file

Welcome to the community, najd!

I think that a re-format of the external will solve the issue. Simply go to Apps > Select Utilities > Choose Disk Utility > select the Erase tab and afterwards select your external drive (should be in the column on the left) > select the Format to be Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
After the re-formatting is completed, you should be able to write/read properly from your external.
