Change volume of an audio device that you don't have set to default (preferably with a hotkey)

I have what I think is probably a very weird request. I need to somehow, if possible, be able to use a remote control to change the volume of some speakers that are used to output audio but are not set to default. If have already figured out the remote part, but I just am trying to figure out a way to set a hotkey to change the volume of the speakers not set to default. I'm sure there are probably ways to quickly switch to the speakers, increase their volume, and switch back, but I'm hoping there is a better way. Thank you for any help!
