Question Changed computer cases and now PC will not power up at all

I have a ROG strix z790-a motherboard, msi 1000g PSU, GeForce 4070 super, I just changed over from a pre built case to a ASUS tuf 502 case, I am re using the fans from the pre built case. All of the components were in the original case working fine, when I plug in the new case the motherboard rgb turns on but when I press the power button nothing happens, anyone have any suggestions on a fix could be? It looks like everything is plugged into the motherboard correctly

check, double check and triple check everything, check first that nothing is shorting on the back/front of the mobo, then that the power cables are all plugged in, and are all properly plugged in, that the ram is fully in, CPU fan is fully in, GPU is fully in etc...

next check the switch header, and look up the front panel pinout of your mobo, after you are sure you have checked everything else try putting a jumper across the power switch pins on your mobo instead of the case switch

it worked before so it's likely that you have missed something

Thank you for the reply, I was planning on just starting over when I get out of work today, the front panel plug that came with the case is just the power and reset wires in an 8pin plug, and when you say putting a jumper across the switch pins how exactly would I do that? As my first thought was maybe the case had a faulty switch or something

You could even take a screwdriver and touch the 2 pins on the board labeled power button. If it turns on you know something is up with the switch on your case probably if it was connected correctly.

the front panel pinout is in chapter 1 pg 13, called system panel header, this info is sometimes printed on the mobo if your lucky, the two pins labelled PWRSW (short for power switch) are the ones you would have to momentarily short together, while the PSU is turned on and plugged in, to switch the PC on

If you have any old IDE hard disks lying around, they usually have some pieces of plastic that look like this:

that's called a jumper, the safest way to power on a mobo without a switch is to short the pins with one of those, but you can also use any metal object, just a terminal screwdriver (like @ohio_buckeye suggested), just be careful you don't drop it/touch anything else etc... because damage can happen

I would still thoroughly check everything else before trying this
