Changed CPU and now I get a black screen

Change Cpu now I get a black screen
My mother bored does support my new cpu! Any help would be great thanks.

List of components would be helpful.
Did you connected CPU power cable (4/8 pin)? and all other cables, RAM sticks etc? If yes, go back to old CPU - if it works, that means either your new CPU is faulty or not supported; if the old one no longer works too then possibly you damaged motherboard during swap (if Intel CPU, then make sure to look for bent pins in CPU socket).

It is easy to damage intel motherboard socket pins; check to see if any are bent out of line.

What board and CPU?
Sometimes a BIOS update may be required.
