So I was trying to change my default install location from my small SSD to my larger HDD. I tried doing it via regedit, however nothing appears in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE section besides a file with no name. (http://prntscr.com/b4ceft). How do I go about fixing or changing my default install location? Thanks!

Hi

You can create a d:\program files
Uninstall the programs then re install them on d:\program files if the installer allows it
But some will use c\program data or c:\windows\system32 anyway

128 gb should be enough space provided you use Disk Clean up and ccleaner occasionally to clear old restore points, windows.old, recycle bin, windows updates , browser caches etc

1. You don't. That is a majorly bad idea.
Many things you DO want on the SSD.

What size is it?

2. For other things that really take up space (doc/music/video), see this:
Win 7 & 8: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1834397/ssd-redirecting-static-files.html
Win 8.1 & 10: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2024314/windows-redirecting-folders-drives.html

For Steam games, see this.
In the steam client:

It's an 120GB SSD. I have Windows installed on it currently, along with League and CS:GO. I just don't want simple default programs installing on it, as I rather have them on the harddrive than taking up space on the small SSD.
