Hello, I've followed geofelt's advice below to reset keyboard from numerical to alpha, by pressing Fn and then + and Scrlk but it didn't work for me.
Shortcut

Solution
Look on your funtion keys (F1 thru F12) one of them should have a symbol that looks like a keypad. Pressing the FN key plus that funtion key will turn the keypad on + off. On my Toshiba its F11 so I press and hold the FN key down by the spacebar and the hit the F11 key to toggle it.
Dear Eva, I'm not sure anybody understands what you mean - that's why you get no answers.
Do you possibly mean your Laptop keyboard stuck in numeric? then you have to look in your manual, it's different for different laptops - You will find a manual on the net too.

Thank you, Oldfox, for trying to help me. I am a beginner and I must have typed my question in a different context (part of the site), that's why it does not make much sense in this thread. Yes, the Laptop keyboard is stuck in numeric.

Thank you, popatim, so much! The problem solved - on my ACER it was F11 too. I am delighted (this is the first time I've used this site). Cheers.
