Pretty much as I suspected. The wires from the case's power button, reset button, Pwr. LED, and HDD LED are combined into one connector. On retail cases, those devices are wired as individual pairs of wires. Example:

Since the retail m/b you are using doesn't have the proprietary header to plug in the HP "combo-connector", you will need to...
1) use the wire pak I linked you to above to go between the HP case's proprietary connector and the board's header wire-by-wire.
2) Or cut the proprietary connector off and use the kit above to splice the individual wires.
3) Or just give up and buy a new retail case.

Haha, I think I like the later (3) but still how will I know what kind of plug a empty case has? Also I didn't get that link to the wires. That sounds like something to look in to. And how hard will it be to match up the wires if the colors are different? Many thanks

This was the link to the wiring kit: https://www.pololu.com/product/1720
To ID them, you would have to hand trace them back to their device. Or check where they go on the HP board's header and mark them. But a new case is the simplest solution. All retail cases use a std. FP wiring.

The header on different boards might vary a bit as to where the pairs actually land. But it doesn't matter with a retail case and a retail board. The board's header is labeled and the case's pairs of wires are labeled.
