Hey guys

I'm planning to upgrade my pc gpu and for this i need to change my psu. Current system is 3 years old:

Tuf gaming x570 motherboard
Gpu rtx 2070 super
Cpu amd ryzen 7 3800x
Carbide 275r case. 2 intake 2 exhaust fans
Ram 32 gb ddr4 (according CPU ID DRAM freq 1064 mhz)
Psu gx650 seasonic
Storage
2tb hdd.
500gb nvme m.2 ssd
1tb nvme m.2 ssd

Upgrades
Near future. 4070 ti super
+ psu

Possible other upgrades: +32 gb ram (maybe change all the RAM to make it faster)
possible Switch cpu with ryzen 9 5900x am4

Request psu recommendations. Was thinking of going gx750 as i had good experience with my 650
Also any need for a 850? (NOT going to do any overclocking no sli etc.)
Thanks!

What is your budget for your PSU purchase? Your location and preferred site for purchase? Having headroom is always a good thing, just because you won't overclock the system doesn't mean the headroom can't be used to hold onto your PSU for a little longer.

Hey man
budget <100

no preferred site, just the main reliable ones, overclockers/scan.co.uk etc.
Thx

Well, the reasoning behind getting an ATX 3.0 power supply is that you will have the native connector for your GPU power, rather than having to use the included adapter. Or separately purchasing a modular cable which adds to the cost.

ATX 3.0 supplies are also rated for the high power spike demands of larger GPUs.

4070Ti Super is a 285W card. Conceivably you could stick with what you have, but it is marginal. Don't like to see a GPU consuming half the power of a PSU, likely to result in a high revving PSU fan.

Not sure if anyone noted it, but your ideal CPU upgrade for gaming would be a Ryzen 5800X3D rather than a 5900X, unless you are playing simulators or RTS titles where the extra 4 cores will come in handy.

2133 memory is also rather slow. You may not have XMP or DOCP turned on. Something to check. Either way you would want something like DDR4 3600 for best results with Ryzen.
