Changing VCore in BIOS has no Effect

Hello Everybody,

I was able to OC up to 4.4ghz, which is plenty for me, but as I started running Prime95, I realized that my VCore was 1.39, as compared to the 1.30 that I set. I am aware that there are sometimes fluctuations .3 off of the set VCore, but this seemed abnormally high. When I look into the BIOS, the reported VCore matches the 1.39, even though it shows that it is set to 1.30.

In an attempt to troubleshoot, I tried lowering the VCore even further to no effect. I also lowered the multiplier with no change. I am really stuck and although I am able to keep Max temps in the 70-80 range on HWMon and Prime95, 1.39 seems to close to the 1.5 limit for comfort.

Any ideas?

For reference, I used both this and this as guides.

My Setup:
Mobo: GA Z68MX-UD2H-B3
CPU: i5-2500k (Trying to OC to keep relevant until SkyLake upgade)
CPU Fan: Zalman CNPS9500AT (size limitations) -- Case has great airflow though
GPU: Sapphire R9 280X Dual-X
PSU: OCZ 500watt
1 SSD, 1HDD

It sounds like you have an automatic tuning option turned on in your BIOS. If you were to go to another "tab" and come back, would it be 1.39v or 1.30v? Also, look around and see if there is an "auto" CPU power usage setting anywhere in your BIOS.
