Changing video cards from AMD to nVidia: is it possible to replace cards before uninstalling the old drivers?

I recently sold my old video card (Radeon 6950) and have a new one on its way (a GTX 770).

However, before I removed and shipped out the AMD card, I forgot to uninstall the drivers for it. Since my motherboard does not contain any video outputs (it does not have integrated graphics) I can't view any sort of video without a graphics card, and therefore I can't uninstall the drivers without first inserting a video card (which will be the 770 since that's the only card I have).

Does anyone have experience with this sort of situation and know if it will be possible to use the 770 until I can successfully switch drivers? I was thinking of trying to boot in safe mode and go from there, but I wanted to check with the community first to see if there was some help on the subject.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have switch old amd cards to new nvidia cards (and vise versa) and there were no conflict in drivers from what I saw. You just need to install the new nvidia drivers once you get the card installed and uninstall any of the old drivers. hope this helped :)

Thank you very much for the quick response!
I'm glad to hear that you haven't had problems switching out cards like that before, so here's hoping all goes well with mine. :)

No problem! respond back when you get the card and tell me if it worked!
