Question Charger with ON/OFF at the plug

Hi Everybody and first, thanks a lot for any help. I have a laptop charger with an ON/OFF function at the out plug. I need to use this charger in another laptop but it does not work. I need to disable this function. More details please see here :

You should only use chargers that are supported for your given laptop

Thank you Mandark. You are right and I know it. My intention is change the plug once this brick has exactly the same specification of the original one or, in the other hand, do a bench power supply with it. It would be a way to recicling instead of discarding it.

Well any typical laptop power supply has 2 leads for power, 1=+V, 2=ground, and if an intelligent one, a 3rd lead for sense, so the sense lead would be a simple, yes/no signal, +V or ground for the PSU to enable power. Got a DMM? should able to figure this out easy and wire the way u want to.

Another way of doing this the PSU senses whether the device hooked up is drawing any current, within a prescribed range and provides power based on that. This would be more complicated that u bargained for to convert to a bench PSU.
