Hi!

I am building new system with ASUS P4R800-VM (ATI RADEON 9100 IGP.
The specs is :
http://www.asus.com/products/mb/socket478/p4r800-vm/overview.htm
I am not expert but also have built a few system but now when I turn the PC on ( Del key pressed) for setting up BIOS, I got the error:" Chassis intruded! System halted".

I search web and some blame that message for jumper connection but I think the connection has been correct. The only thing I suspect now is that the mobo support dual channel DDR while i am using 2 old DDR 266 modules (single).

Please tell me if that is the cause of trouble or smewhere else.

Regards.

Was the system working before? If so, you're suspicion on the RAM config doesn't make any sense.

My first thought was to check BIOS for a "case intrusion detection reset" of some sort. Many BIOS' s have detection for a mobo jumper like they said on the other websites, and most allow you to reset it.

Does the system work? Or is this problem preventing you from booting up at all?

Check in BIOS, and disable chasis intrusion feature.

No, it did not work before. It is being set up for first time use. How can I set up Bios if system halted, I mean I never reach the menu point.

unplug the psu from the wall, clear the bios with either the jumper for that (in your manual) or remove the battery for 3-5 minutes, plug back the power cord and give it a try

-Always put the blame on you first, then on the hardware !!!
