I'm looking for a cheap 17 inch lcd, Microexchange has a refurbished viewsonic ve175 for 299, which seems like a steal to me. I'm just scared about getting dead pixels cause its refurbished and I don't know the return poicies for monitors. I've ordered from Microexchange before, and they replaced a faulty keyboard free of charge. Other online deals I've been looking at are the Benq fp767 at Tigerdirect and a Samsung 171t at newegg. Both of those are under 350. Does anyone know if these sites will care if I get too many dead pixels?
I'm not an avid gamer so response time doesn't matter that much and DVI isn't a necessity. Thanks

Most online retailers follow the manufacturer's guidelines for dead pixels. That means that unless you have a total of 8 dead pixels, they wont take it back. Make sure you READ the policies and agreements before you buy anything from those companies, they've got to have it listed on their sites. (Newegg's policy is 8 dead pixels)

I got my Sony SDM-X73 from NewEgg. Pixel wise it is perfect. I think the new monitors have better technology cause I've seen many perfect screens with no dead pixels lately. I would be worried about an older screen. If the pixels turn out all wrong you could alway return the monitor for a different problem......Smashed in shipping or whatever.

Give me fuel, give me fire, give me that which I desire.
