[SOLVED] Cheap and best case fans recommendation.

Hi All,
My PC specs are pretty much listed in my signature.
However I would like to add that I have a Corsair Carbide Spec-05 cabinet

Which seems to be ventilated enough, However under heavy load my GPU starts to touch 80 C at 90% fan speed(custom fan curve), which i know most of you are fine with but it's too hot for my liking.
As for the case fans, I have a single front intake fan.
Now i am looking for a good air cooling system for my case. Any recommendations are welcome.

Arctic F12. Cheap, quiet, reliable. Comes in either 3pin DC or 4pin PWM versions in either 120mm or 140mm sizes.

I'd suggest a minimum of 2x intakes and 1x exhaust, with a better setup being 2x 140mm intakes (or 3x 120mm with hdd cage removed) , 2x exhaust (rear, top-rear) and block off the top-front fan port.

You don't just need air, it also needs to move, and the hdd cage as is is blocking most airflow to the underside of the gpu, where it's needed most. The hdd cage would have been more useful up top where optical bays used to be, and allow for 2x low mount 120mm fans instead of high mount, which just get sucked right out the first top fan port exhaust.

Thanks. but would like to know by how much would the GPU temperature decrease as per these recommendations?
 
Can't say. That's like a Mom telling her son to eat his vegetables so he'll grow up big and strong, and he asks 'how strong?'

There's simply too many variables. Case temps, ambient temps, gpu, gpu load, game, resolution, detail settings... And more.

All I can say is it stands a good chance of going down. How far is anyone's guess. For all I can tell from here, it's possible it's thermal throttling, so downclocking to save on heat and you give it enough cooler air with the additional fans that it boosts higher and fps improves, but temps don't budge overall.

The max temperature as per Nvidia for the Graphics Card is stated to be 95 C, so there is no Thermal Throttling whatsoever.
However I did go by 2000RPM Antec Spark 120mm dual Case fans. I am yet to install it inside my cabinet, but omce done I would know. Thanks for the help
 
Why do ppl assume a temp has to get to max before it thermally throttles. Max is the temp at which permanent damage starts occurring. Or thermal shutdown. Thermal throttle happens a long time before that. The card will start dropping clock speeds and its required voltages in an attempt not to hit max temp. 80° is considered max safe temp on gpus because it's after that temp that throttling starts occurring and it's different for every card. There's also the vram and VRM's to take into consideration. There's only 1 temp strip on a video card, that's inside the gpu chip itself. When it's hitting max limits the vram and VRM's can easily be over 100°C at which point you'll start seeing artifacts and possible damage.

I can pretty much assure you that I have no throttling whatsoever, I keep my stats with me all the time through MSI afterburner.

I have Arcitc F12 fans on top. They are decent, but never place them on top. Mine has developed some unpleasant noise. Generally speaking dont put sleeve bearing fans on top. They claim they have FDB bearings but i dont believe that, or they are either pretty poor quality. Granted these F12 lasted 5 years,8hrs per day before giving in but thats merely 15k hrs of work.
