With the great performance upgrade that comes with the 9800X3D I am thinking it might be valuable to upgrade my 7950X3D when the 9950X3D launches, assuming it will get a similar boost in performance.
My old intel system is starting to get sketchy, rebooting about once a week. So, I would want to take my 7950X3D and upgrade my old intel system using it.
What would be the minimum motherboard/memory requirements to not limit the 7950X3D? Looking to find the cheapest effective set. Those should be the only required components to make the change.
Will a $100 B650 motherboard work or does it really need an X670E or better?
Is there much difference between 6400/30 memory and 5600/36 performance?
PC part picker is not really showing that much difference on memory prices for 2x32GB sets. $140 vs $160.
But the motherboards are significantly different. An X870E Aorus Master is $499 and a B650 with wifi is $130.
Any suggested pairups with pros and cons?
