Those extender cables you can buy seem to have wiped out a new ssd...assumed it was a fluke...replaced it and it burned the next one...pulled it out and took one I hadn't used and it was a Y type and burned another SSD and the 2TB drive with my life on it. Smell a burned smell on all of those drives and they will not recognize. The spin drive won't even spin. Incredible. I think I am going going to ditch the whole thing as it is so crazy and buy a new Ryzen threadripper system and be done with it. Brand new power supply... maybe it is the issue. I was updating stuff and it was booting but bad stuff kept occurring like drives not getting recognized....My opinion is to never buy that y sata stuff and extenders. I wish manufacturers would make these sata cables durable and flexible as they are a pain straight off the supply. You hear of this type of thing?
