Question Cheap USB soundcard vs ADC

Hello.

I want to detect the signals from my electronic drum kit, which use pizzo-electric sensors. I know that I need to convert the analog signal to digital, but I was wondering if a cheap USB sound card would be sufficient (e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EXTERNAL-VIRTUAL-USB-3D-5-1-CHANNELS-STEREO-SOUND-CARD-AUDIO-ADAPTOR-CONVERTER/392807460055 or if a dedicated ADC would be needed.

Assuming I needed an ADC, what circuit would I need to connect the drum pad to the ADC?

Your drum kit does not have an audio out on the controller? That would be very odd.

Hello.

Yes, the drum brain does output audio, but I am after the raw signal from the drum pad (effectively replacing the drum brain).
