Just a silly question please bear with me, I am hopefully going to be in Australia by January and was wondering are those prices in Australian dollars cause they seem kinda expensive?
Just asking so that I buy all my computer stuff before hand.

Where are you coming from? If you are going to buy equipment, make sure it works on 240V. Also note that Australian plugs are different to foreign ones, TV standard is PAL. And not to forget, there are certain national standards that makes it illegal to connect unapproved components to the phone network. (e.g. phone handsets etc...)

IT Estate is always the cheapest. Well atleast it is whenever i do a Staticice search.

Supposedly PC Maniacs have the best Customer Service. It's run by one guy I think, and he is very honest and trustworthy. give it a try! Here are some Shopferret reviews on PC Maniacs - LINK

Thanks for mentioning that, I am in Pakistan and will hopefully come to Australia to do my bachelors in Engineering. The tv standard is PAL here as well and we use 220~240 V so that won't be a problem. I didn't know there were so many Australians on TG forumz maybe I will bump into one of you guys!

Welcome to the best country in the world, when you get here! Yea they are in $AU. Everything costs more here coz the $AU is weaker than the $US, coz we arent all rich. Dont get me started on the British Pound.

Great.... /start of rant/

.80 to the almighty US dollar. What's the cost US of, say an Antec p180b on New Egg vs. the lowest price on staticice? Or pick something. How about an intel CPU? Or some RAM? Or a MB?

You're right... The exchanges are getting better. But there are some things that still don't quite compare. Memory is one, OS's is another. I hate it to have to pay a differential over and above the exchange rate + 10% GST.... (not really happy about the gst... but wth)
