Hey everyone, I pretty tech savvy but not a wiz at it, but ever since I've build my PC I've had random instances of my PC shutting down and getting the Blue check disk screen, occasionally I will get something similar pertaining to my RAM. I don't know if when I built the PC I install something incorrectly or didn't upgrade something I should have. I went to device manager and all my componets are up to date. Yesterday I tried running Farcry 3 which I've been playing for awhile now and it wouldn't start so I restarted the computer and got what you see in the pics I've attached.

My SSD is a Samsung 850 Pro 256GB. Also, I don't know if this is causing the issue but when I had to shut the PC down because Farcry 3 wouldn't launch now while I'm playing I get a little game play in then the sound keeps studdering. That hasn't happened to me once before in the many hours I've played it. I know Nvidia just rolled out a new driver don't know if that caused the issue also. Please help me understand why I'm getting these check disk errors on on occasion a RAM check. Thank you.

Hey there, Mrkite!

Do you have only an SSD or is there another secondary storage drive in your system? Chkdsk doesn't really do anything for solid-state drives, so you should check this article from MS in hopes to stop Check Disk from happening: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/831426

I'd also recommend you to test the SSD using your manufacturer's diagnostic tool or these third-party SSD testing tools: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1926483/ssd-diagnostic-tools.html

As for the drivers update, I'd recommend you to use your motherboard manufacturer's website to check for updates from there. If you are concerned about the RAM, I'd suggest you running memtest as well. (...
