Hello guys, I'm pretty mad right now after finding out that some dude "fixed" my PSUs (some Codegen 300x 500 watts) incompatibility with my Gigabyte 750ti by "upgrading it" with a 6-pin connector. The cable got screwed up on the inside, and now there's coil whine everywhere and all games (other than minecraft) freeze because my GPU goes crazy on power or whatever. Basically, right now I'm looking for a 500watt-ish budget PSU with a 6-pin connector, but I don't know how the compatibility goes for those thingies. My current motherboard is a super old MSI GF615M-P33 and it has a Phenom II x4 945, which I'm planning to upgrade to an i5-4460 (but don't know which motherboard to take with it). As for my case, it has no proper naming and the best I can describe is that the top is 41cm long and 8cm wide. TY in advance.

Because we don't know where do you shop the PSU, and we can't recommend for you. But you should do the homework, like read and find the info.
1) read this " Picking The Right Power Supply: What You Should Know" http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/psu-buying-guide,2916.html
2) Check out the PSU tier list and check the store where you will shop to see, which tier 1 or 2 PSU is the lower budget good brand PSU. You will need a good 400W PSU to power the your PC ( old or even the new i5 one) with the 750ti. If you buy the good brand 500W you will power most of single GPU.

3) or list the store where you will shop, then our member(s) will recommend one for you, don't forget set the budget too.

Well, I mainly buy stuff from Newegg, and currently my budget is about 75€, maybe more.
