I'm a die hard pc gamer but I pulled out my old ps2 last night and found something... I have a crappy china playstation 2 controller that I really like the shape of but it's pretty bad quality... It's the only wireless ps2 controller that looks identical to the wired ones so I really want it to work. The sticks are more sensitive in one direction than the other, a bit choppy etc. so I was wondering if it's a chip or something causing this or if I can just solder some new potentiometers on it? And how would I go about buying some that I know are quality? They aren't worn out, I remember I stopped using it because of this reason and I had the same problem on a chinese PC controller too.

Like I said, might as well just buy a used PS2 controller. If the sticks actually are electrically the same as the real ones you can swap out the components. Note that this will only help if ONLY the stick sensors are broken, not if the controller control chip is damaged.

If the controller...
Maybe you didn't read it carefully. I want this controller to work and there's a reason. They do NOT make wireless controllers for the ps2 shaped exactly like the original ps2 controller. Other than this China knock off they do not exist for anything other than ps3. I want this exact controller to work because it's form factor does not come anywhere else. I don't mind soldering and buying the stuff, I just need to know if that would fix it.

If the controller parts swap doesn't work, time for either a lava controller or wireless adapter for the PS2 wired controller (not horribly difficult to try to make, though debug will be a nightmare)
