Hi All,
I have a Western Digital Passport that's obviously not well. I ran chkdsk F: /x /r /v and it's taking 5 days to progress 1 percent in the check. Prior to that, accessing data was similarly slow, but not a complete failure as long as files were accessed one at a time. There is the possibility of data on the drive that was not backed up, and I'd like to recover it. Do I roll the dice and let it run for.. probably another year? Or end the task and ship it off to a pro? Will they be able to get the data faster?
Have to say, this post looks really stupid after typing it out, so... I suppose I get what I'll deserve. TIA.
