I currently own a GB H61M mobo (LGA 1155 socket, as you know). My current CPU is an i3-2120 which is damn weak and definitely not for current gaming. Now, I don't have enough funding for a new mobo and CPU, so I decided to get a 2nd or 3rd gen used CPU.

My choices are :

■i7-3770 (Around $200 in my country)
■i7-2600 (Around $150 in my country)
■i5-3570 (Around $140 in my country)

My budget is at best $180 or so. So, what'd be the best CPU among these (or others) to properly utilize my GPU which is a R9 390 currently getting highly bottlenecked by my i3-2120

Wow. There is nothing such thing as future proofing as technology is advancing at much rapid pace. Leaving that apart, tell me, if there are games utilizing more than 4 cores or even full 4 cores?

I would definitely agree with Hellfire13 that if you are going for an upgrade in coming years, then i5 is still a solid choice otherwise get yourself an i7.
