Have a nice day,

I want to buy a 17-inch gaming laptop for gaming, performance and portability, preferably with an RTX 4090.
I choose between:

+ newer ones
+ higher screen resolution and 16x10 aspect ratio
+ overall more performance thanks to the processor and DDR with a higher frequency

+ metal design (a huge plus for me if it is of course as I imagine, or is it just a marketing matter)
+ better cooling and overall lower noise

What is your opinion please? The ASUS model is older, I'm afraid that I would be buying an older device and a newer one will be released next month, but if the notebook is made of metal, the idea of the notebook's flexibility and overall durability is much better.

Thanks for any advice! Alternatively, if you can think of suitable alternatives, I will be very grateful.

As much as the MSI laptop is enticing in terms of specs, the only thing holding me back is the mention of Intel. That would lead me to go with the Asus route. It's not just the mention of durability, after Intel's recent way of handling it's issue with processor degradation, how they kept it under the rug while people were complaining right, left and center and how stop gaps are coming thick and fast for said processers, I'd steer clear of Intel.

You could still get the MSI laptop. If there's an option to return the laptop in case there's any issues with it, I'd return it and pick up the next best thing which would be the MSI laptop if it's available on their site.
