I already have R9 270x Toxic.
ive been planning to buy intel i3 4160 and asus b85 pro gamer for months, and will upgrade to i54460 after 2 or 3 months. But my cousin said that If i would go for i3, i should go for A8 series instead, since its cheaper.

Which should i choose?which is better in the long run?

My cousin offered me a gigabyte f2a55m ds2, but im more inclined towards asus since i had Asus motherboard before and it took over 5 years before the capacitors broke, hence high quality.

Is the gigabyte motherboard also same high quality as asus?

Going to buy tomorrow.

Intel or amd?

Also im not going to tweak or overclock the AMD, Just unlock the cores if its stable.

Solution
Go with the i5 if you can afford it dude - i have the exact combo of i5 and 270x right now; plays any game you throw at it easily 😉
The i3 would be a better option as it offers stronger performance per core, which is important for gaming. Also there is some upgrade path, you can upgrade to an i7 later down the road if you want to. Those two are top motherboard brands - you can't really go wrong with either, but in this case the Asus one is of a better quality than the Gigabyte one (that one is more geared towards budget builds). Simply put, the i3 will beat the A8 easily. I'd go with the i3

Thanks for all of your replies. Thanks for your suggestions, but i cant take micro atx mobo since i have a big R9270x toxic, i need large asus mobo.

How about i5 4460 against the most expensive A10 variant (still cheaper than i5 4460). Is it the A10 7870k? Because if I buy Fm2+ motherboard, i could buy right now an A10 which is cheaper than i5.

Also last question, will the own GPU of A10 add strenth to my videocard R9 270x?
Is the performance in my gaming of dual video card better than I5 4460+R9 270X TOXIC??

Forever oleg, how about the temperature status of A10? If i play for several hours, (without tweaks) will it becomes too hot? My cousin said that the rreason why amd procs get hot is because people overclocks them. Im not interested in overclocking, but in unlocking 4th core only, as i did in my previous processor.

I don't believe you can run A10 APU iGPU in dual mode with 270x. I think it's only for R7 240 and 250 or something like that.

Even if it will work, i5 will be a better choice - cooler, MUCH more powerful and future proof, an all great around CPU.
