choosing the right gpu

Hi Guys,

My current rig is as below

i5 4670

gigabyte B85MD3H mother board

XFX HD 7770 1GB DDR5

8 GB DDR3 RAM

500 WATTS PSU

Monitor(1366x768)

I am thinking of upgrading my GPU so can any one please suggest me good GPU so that i can play upcoming games in high settings and as my monitor support only 720p resolution so please let me know the gpu which can max out in 720p gaming and it must be future proof....say for atleast another 3 years.

What make and model PSU? If OK, you could run a gtx 970 easily.

Thanks for the reply....i am using i ball 500 watts marathon psu.....i have gtx 970 in mind but will r9 280 be enough to max out 720p gaming and will it be future proof?

The iball PSU will only take a low power graphics card. The iball is very poor quality. You need to get a Seasonic eg http://www.flipkart.com/seasonic-s12ii-520-watts-psu/p/itmd5xz5hzvzt9cx then you can get a gtx970.

A R9 280 will need a 550W power supply eg http://www.flipkart.com/seasonic-s12ii-620-watts-psu/p/itmd5xz46hjzzrax

ofcourse ...!!! wait for for them .!! and r9 280 falls way back from the GTX 970 ....!!! and even tho GTX 960 2 GB also beats R9 280 at 1080p gaming...!!!

Whichever you get; you'll need a better PSU.
