I did my first build a few months ago and the graphics card I had was a RX 480 NITRO 8gb, although, unfortunaly a few weeks ago she stopped working, I believe it was because I bought an Oculus rift but I'll probably do another post about that. So I returned it and now I have the option to get another RX 480.. or I can just get the money back and buy another card.
The GTX 1060 from this link is just at the same price has the one I bough so I was wondering If this would be a better choice this time!
Things to keep in mind: I mostly only play Overwatch, but, I make videos for youtube so I need to record while playing, and also I was looking for to try and stream Overwatch sometime. Is the RX 480 NiTRO or the GTX 1060 enough to stream at a good quality smothly?

Link to the Gtx 1060 card:

If you think these aren't gonna be enough for streaming (also, I have a cpu I5 6500k I believe) let me know which card would! My psu is a cx-600

Solution
1060 is good as the post above mentioned, but i don't think it's worth it to spent 300 euro for it
i think this is much more worth it (but i dunno whether it's on stock or not, i just pick it spec-wise)

it's a 980ti i think, which perform almost on the level of 1070 :)

it's a RX 580, which should perform on par with the GTX 1060 6 GB, if not better :)

as...
The 1060 6gb is a very good card and will get you great framerates at 1080p on Overwatch. The 1060 and 480 are very similar in performance where in some games the 1060 is better, and others the 480 is better.

As for streaming, you may need a higher thread count CPU to see better streaming performance than a GPU upgrade. If you were building a new system, I would recommend a AMD 1600 build for your 1060. It would make a great gaming/streaming machine.

But, since you already have a skylake platform, I would look at getting a 6700/7700. If you have a Z170 motherboard, then go for the "k" model. If you don't have a "z" board, then don't go for the "K". The "K" models are unlocked chips that allow for overclocking, but you can only overclock on a Z board. The 6700/7700 have SMT where they have 8 total threads instead of 4 that you get from your i5. The additional 4 threads will be very valuable for streaming.

as for streaming, the more core/threads u have the better

and i don't think ur CPU nor your mobo is unlocked (i5 6600k is the only i5 in skylake that's unlocked, and judging from that, ur mobo is probably either H or B)

a good 7700 should help you in terms of extra IPC performance + extra 4 threads (after coffelake is released, the 7700 price should go down, which allows u to save up some $)

seeing your PSU, i think it's the old green label CX? if so, consider on changing it, there are many complains out there about that PSU
switch to something from tier 1 / 2 / 3 at very least:
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html
https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/631048-psu-tier-list-updated/
perhaps something like:
EVGA G2 / G3
Corsair CXM / RMx
Seasonic M12II / Leadex

How does a 980 perform like a 1070 and costs 215?? What the hell haha, never seen something so crazy before.
Perhaps If I need a better cpu and psu for streaming like this and the post above suggest, I could buy this 980ti for this pc and later build a new one that's gonna have all the other good stuff what do you think?
If the 980ti is so good has the 1070 but costs less there's gotta be a downside right?

The 980ti cost is so much lower because of GPU mining. Some cards are much better at mining than others and have a lower power consumption. Right now, the 480/580/1060/1070 are the go to cards for mining and the prices on these cards are ridiculous. The MSRP for the 1070 is $349 and you cannot find that price anywhere.

The 980ti performs very similarly to a 1070, but it uses a lot more power, therefore it is not a very good card for mining. The last 6 months have been the absolute worst time to buy a mid-range GPU.

980ti is not good performance/power wise for mining, that's the simple way of saying it, the new gens is much better at the job that's why those card are mostly out of stock / overpriced right now :) so it dodge the cryptominer's target and move on :)

downside of the 980ti should u choose to buy it:
no warranty (used GPU right)
more power consumption, while performing worse than the 1070 (obvious though :v)
some DX12 incompability (than the Pascal architecture) [it'll work, just perform worse than the normal / usual performance]

that's all i can think though, but seeing how it's priced, it's a good buy, u should buy that instead :) paired with an i7, u will have a really great rig there :)

however, as i also mentioned earlier, upgrading PSU is recommended, as CX (green label) lineup aren't really that great (many complaints)

Well, I paid like 292 for the RX 480 Nitro, so If i get the 980ti for 215 I still have 77. Probably not enough for a new psu but after a while I'll try to get both the psu and the I7. I actually have another, more old, computer with a GTX 750 which has a very poor psu and a I3 cpu I think, so If put the cx-600 in the old one as well has the i5 when I get the I7 and new psu sounds like a good plan! Can you explain me what "mining" is? Do I need it?

No, you definitely don't need mining. lol Gamers hate mining because it makes our hardware cost more.

Mining is for cryptocurrency. It is kinda complicated. But there are cryptocurrencies in the world. You may have heard of bitcoin, it is one of the most famous. Like all currencies, cryptocurrency has a value. Right now, Etherium is a very popular cryptocurrency because the price of Etherium went from like $5 at the beginning of the year and has gone as high as $400. So some people have made a lot of money with Etherium.

Mining, is how you get Etherium. A miner will build a system a GPU (usually multiple GPUs) to mine Etherium. But not all GPUs mine Etherium very good. Some GPUs cost more on the electric bill that what they get in mining. The 480/580/1060/1070 all mine Etherium very well and they are lower in power. So what happened is all these miners bought all of these types of GPUs. Just like economics 101, when supply is down and demand is up, prices go up. This is why GPU prices are so high right now and have been very hard to find.

Ohh ok I get it now, that's another world right there indeed. I'm glad I know that now, Thanks for the info!

or you can just sell the old PC and u use the money u get to buy a some new things like PSU and CPU :)
the 77 euro should be enough for a new PSU, something in the line of CX550M / CX650M perhaps
CPU can still wait :) safety first imo :)

as for mining, it's like real-world mining, but in this case, u're mining cryptocurrency, that's all really
the tools are your GPU
the results depends on the currency u're mining (in this case, bitcoin and ethereum had the highest price for now)
it can be easy and simple, but i won't recommend u to do it, since:
1. we already have enough miner in this world and we don't want u to help them ruining the GPU price even more XD
2. your GPU ain't gonna fit for the task :)

i hope u enjoy the GTX 980ti mate 😀

The thing is that my old pc, I gave it to my father because he doesn't have one and he needs.
But yes I think I'll get the 980ti once I get my money back from Amazon o.o, thanks for all the help both of you!
I always come to this forum when I need help with computer related stuff, I have never seen such a good helping forum onlinne, and I don't even have to pay which is sick XP
