Looking for help solving an issue with chrome. The issue is: If I have any sort of video playing in the background on chrome like a youtube video or a twitch stream while playing a game its like I have extremely low fps. But in reality I actually have around 150 fps. This is what is confusing me. It feels super choppy and laggy while moving around but my fps is only slightly lower than what it usually is. Once I pause the video or close the tab with the video it returns to normal.

Running any browser in the backgound can potentially impact game performance. There are a few workarounds. You can try throwing more CPU cores at the problem by upgrading your CPU. If you have a dual, upgrade to a quad. You could also buy a cheap, low-end PC/laptop dedicated to just playing videos.

I mean I have an 8 core cpu. And I realise that chrome can use up a lot of resources but its only while video is playing say for example the youtube video is paused there is no performance hit. Really there can't be much difference between the video playing and not playing. It also hasn't always been an issue. There was a point in time where it wouldn't happen at all but now it does it.
