Hey, so while browsing on internet and watching videos on youtube using Chrome my CPU goes up to 45°-50°C, that's the same temp i get when playing games like Overwatch. I've already turned off hardware acceleration on Chrome's configuration. It definetely is not my CPU because i rarely go over 60°C even on CPU intensive games like BF4, help?

Solution
Well then you'll just have to deal with it.

I mean, this is not bad for your computer in any way. Now there are people that arguing that keeping a CPU running cooler will prolong its life. However, this is a difference between 16 years and 17 years. It will become completely obsolete before it dies from heat, as long as it never exceeds 100C.

If your CPU is overheating, then the problem is either the CPU, power delivery systems, or the CPU cooler. You see, CPU intensive games don't hammer the CPU with instructions like rendering JS and CSS does.

What are your system specs?

CPU: I5 4590 (Stock cooler)
GPU: R9 380
RAM: 8GB 1866mhz
MOBO: ASUS B85M-G R2.0
PSU: EVGA 430w
HDD: WD 1TB Blue

Actually yeah, when hardware acceleration is off i'll get a constant 30%-40% usage doesn't matter if i'm using chrome or not as long as it's open. When i turned it on i'd get 30%-40% usage only when watching videos or opening sites, if i had chrome open but not doing anything i'd get 1% cpu usage.

30%-40% total usage. You see, Chrome puts a lot of load on just the first one or two cores. This means that those cores will be producing tons of heat, but the other cores not being active lowers overall usage percentage.

This is why total CPU usage is not very representative of how much heat the CPU will produce.

I repeat. Your temperatures are fine. Please stop worrying about it.

Isn't it a little bit ridiculous that i'll get the same temps browisng the internet and gaming? Maybe i'm over reacting (sorry if that's the case) but other browsers don't seem to stress my CPU as much.

Weirdly enough even if i close Chrome the task manager says there is a Chrome process going on which uses around 20% CPU (yes, i've turned off the "let google run on the background" option) anyways, if i close that i'll get 1-2% CPU usage

Google's stock extensions (Google Docs and Google Docs Offline) and uBlock Origin. Chrome's task manager show me all the cpu load comes from the browser itself

I've just finished reinstalling it and usage/temps are the same :/
