Chrome new tab page change?

i loaded up chrome this morning and saw on the bottom of the new tabs page a list of things as well as a wird item in the top left as shown in the image above. i thought it might be a virus so i ran avg and malwarebytes and they detected nothing. so i turned on some of my over windows 10 pcs to see if there chrome was the same. to my supersize all of my computers in the house have this wired change. i was wondering is this a thing that has happend to all chromes? im still not sure and would like to know.

I have seen extra lines on bottom of the search screen before, often Google will add links there. Is it a link or just text?

It may just link to https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/themes since you are running default

They are not links however when i click on the bottom text another line of text appears saying 'Select a collection'.
The switch/button in the top right also does not do anything.
From reading your comment you dont think it is a virus?

look in your extensions menu and see if anything strange there. Its in the more tools menu in Chrome options.

It looks like malware if its anything, but then i would have expected malwarebytes to fix it if it were.

where does it take you to? what happens if you click "select a collection"
