Chrome not overlapping pinned Chrome application on taskbar.

Hey everyone, I have encountered the issue a few weeks ago of Google Chrome not overlapping pinned chrome application on taskbar. I am on windows 10. All other applications seem to stack but not google chrome. Here is a picture for reference. http://prnt.sc/d9whya Thanks so much!

do you have chrome open twice or does it open that icon up if you click the pinned icon?

try unpinning it and re pin chrome again, same thing used to happen in win 7

I have tried unpinning and pinning it several times. I have it open once, and whenever I open up the pinned icon it does the overlay the pinned icon and instead duplicates it in a seperate space.

one fix appears to be

Go to c/users/username/Appdata/local/Google/Chrome
delete the user data
unpin chrome and re pin it again. you will need to login to chrome again

this should fix it.
