Chrome won't play youtube videos

ever since upgrading to windows 10 I have noticed that more and more videos refuse to play on chrome. I keep getting the same error "your browser does not currently recognize any of the video formats available." i have googled this several times and none of the tricks seem to work. I just want to watch my videos... 🙁

1| Mind sharing the mare and model of your laptop or it's SKU? If it's a prebuilt, then please pass on it's SKU. If it's a custom made desktop, please list your specs like so:

2| What OS were you on prior to your upgrade?

3| How long has the issue been with you? Have you made sure your motherboard/unit's BIOS and drivers are all up to date? Did you try reinstalling your OS?
