Hi!

This where the setup:

Each line is of each one chunneler of two players at one position.
The positions due to each line are different.
Player2's chunneler are all set to chunnel to a chunneler #68 at a very
different position. Sone doe JOE chunnels, some not. Escort orders
are set as follows.

player2: #43 JOE CHto68; player1: #44 JOE ESC43 CHto46
player2: #45 CHto68; player1: #46 JOE CHto48
player2: #47 JOE CHto68; player1: #48 JOE ESC47 CHto50
player2: #49 CHto68; player1: #50 JOE CHto52
player2: #51 JOE CHto68; player1: #52 ESC51 CHto54
player2: #53 CHto68; player1: #54 CHto56
player2: #55 JOE CHto68; player1: #56 ESC55 CHto58
player2: #57 CHto68; player1: #58 CHto59
player1: #59 just a target chunneler
This is the lonely chunneler:

player2: 68 NCH

This are ships (no chunnelers) which are at position of #68.

player2: #64 ESC44 player1: #60 ESC46
player2: #65 ESC48 player1: #61 ESC50
player2: #66 player1: #62
player2: #67 player1: #63

Result:

#43 End up at 68; #44&#64 end up together
#45 End up at 68; #46 end up alone
#47 End up at 68; #48&#65 endup together
#49 End up at 68; #50 end up alone
#51 End up at 68; #52;#60-63,#66&#67 end up together (*)
#53 End up at 68; #54 end up alone
#55 End up at 68; #56 end up alone
#57 End up at 68; #58 end up at #59

(*) Is the failure line. #64,#65,#60,#61 had to escort the chunnelers
#44,#46,#48,#50 and only #62,#63,#66,#67 should have gone with #52
because chunneling is ordered by increasing ID. And it were ships of the
same player1 (#46,#50,#60,#61,#52) involed in the failure.

I used the snowflake map with 40 planets. Also two FCHC #41,#42 for
player 1 and 2 as they had the Scavs as races and the aboves chunnelers
were Forgottens.

The following strange IDs occured (strange because all ship IDs were
above 40):

ID 58:
Helm: Entering subspace warp chunnel, moved 743 ly
Helm: Waypoint reached 1900 , 1551
Planet: Ace's Base
Helm: Opening a warp chunnel, moving 900 ly to ship ID 19

ID 57:
Helm: Waypoint reached 1000 , 1551
Planet: Crusader's Conquest
Helm: Opening a warp chunnel, moving 743 ly to ship ID 3

and so on.

I checked planet#3. But there haven't ended up any ship.

Any ideas?

Looks like faulty entries in the log file. As long as there is no
faulty chunneling, that is acceptable IMHO.

There is a fault. Two ship which should had to go with a ealier JOE
chunnel were taken by a later no-JOE chunnel.

Sorry to ask: You did check that they had set the correct escort
target? With many chunnelings it is easy to slip, even though you are
probably the most experianced chunneler in V4. ;-)

I did backups from the game slots and checked it again. Everything was
ok.
